Step 3 (第三步)

"The third step is, establish a definite date when you intend to possess the money you desire."

「第三步，建立你打算擁有你所渇望金錢的確切日期。」

• "definite" 是「確切的」；"intend" 是「打算」；"possess" 是「擁有」。Parkinson's Law (帕金森定律) 說 "Work expands to fill the time allotted for it."「工作會延長至填滿分配給它的時間。」因此，我們必需給自己一個期限，愈短愈好，才能有所 focus，而不是無限期。

Step 2 (第二步)

"Second, you have to determine exactly what you intend to give in return for the money you desire."

「你必需決定你到底打算付出什麼來換取你所渴望的金錢。」

• 名詞片語 "exactly what you intend to give"「你到底打算給與什麼」是動詞 "determine"「決定」的受詞。"in return for" 是「來換取」。天下沒有白吃的午餐，也就是 "There is no such thing as something for nothing."「沒有不勞而獲的事。」電影「祕密」被批評的一點就是只叫人去 "希望、想要得到"，但沒有告訴人們 "需要付出"。

"First, fix in your mind the exact amount of money you desire, it’s not sufficient to say I want plenty of money, you got to be definite as to the amount."
